Snake Park in Kannur | 2 Kms from NH17



Hooo!!! It’s horrible! You will say when you come here.... The spot is Snake Park in Kannur District. Parassinkkadavu Snake Park is about 16 km away from Kannur town and 10 Kms from Thaliparamba in the Kannur district of North Kerala. The Snake Park is a famous landmark in Parassinikkadavu, which is 2 km away from National Highway (NH) 17. The Famous Parassinikkadavu Temple is nearer to this park. The park is not more than ½ acres, but having variety of trees and animals here along with snakes. The Park houses a large variety of snakes and other small animals, including the Spectacled Cobra, King Cobra, Russell's viper, Krait and various pit vipers. There is also a large collection of non-poisonous snakes including pythons. The park is dedicated to the preservation and conservation of snakes, many species of which are gradually becoming extinct. In a live show, trained personnel play and 'interact' with a variety of snakes, including cobras and vipers, and try to quell mythical fears and superstitions about snakes. It has also been proposed that a laboratory to extract venom from snakes for purposes of research be set up here. Many tourists are coming to see the park.

Fee for Still Camera: Rs. 25
Working Time: 9am to 6pm
Note: On Holidays its very rush to enter here.

How to Reach Here??
From Kannur many buses are taking service to Mangattuparamba and to Snake Park. Mangattuparamba is famous with Kannur University and NH 17 is passing through here. From Mangattuparamba 4 Kms are there to the Park.
Nearest Airport: Calicut, Kerala & Karipur International Airport, Karnataka
Nearest Railway Station: Cannanore (Kannur)
